Renowned actor, Phil LaMarr, voice of Samurai Jack is best known as one of the original cast members of “Mad TV” and as “Marvin” in Pulp Fiction. In addition to numerous appearances in films like Step Brothers, Free Enterprise and Real Steel, and TV shows such as “NYPD Blue,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Raising Hope” and “Castle;” Phil has been profiled for his extensive voice-over work, including the animated series “Static Shock,” and “Justice League,” recurring roles on “King of The Hill” and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” as well as parts in video games like Darksiders.
Princess Mentality Cosplay
Chaka Cumberbatch, also fondly known as Princess Mentality Cosplay is classy and southern and is never without red lipstick. She’s a superhero cosplayer, social media manager and freelance journalist based in Dallas. Chaka is also the founder of #29DaysOfBlackCosplay; an empowering movement which casts a positive spotlight on black cosplayers across the globe.
Award-winning author Tim Waggoner wrote his first book at age five; a comic book version of King Kong vs. Godzilla on a stenographer’s pad. He has since written several other novels including Nekropolis, Dead Streets, Dark War and also written fiction based on Stargate: SG-1, Doctor Who, A Nightmare on Elm Street, the videogame Defender, Xena the Warrior Princess and others. He’s published over 100 short stories, some of which are collected in Broken Shadows and All Too Surreal.
Fans of X-Men remember Kelly for her role as the villainess Yuriko Oyama a.k.a. Lady Deathstryke in the A-list cast, blockbuster sci-fi film, X-MEN 2 where Hu gets to demonstrate her black belt capabilities in an extraordinary fight scene with Wolverine played by Hugh Jackman. Other feature film credits would include Universal Pictures’ Scorpion King, The Doors and the action film Cradle to the Grave with Jet Li, Gabrielle Union and DMX.
Cosplay and YouTube legend D-Piddy, is set to make his return this summer to AnimeKon Expo. With over 100 million views on his YouTube channel and over 400 000 fans (and counting!) on his Facebook fanpage, this cosplay icon’s popularity shows no signs of waning.
Maki Roll is the “Cosplay Cutie Turned Burlesque Beauty”. The DC native started her journey as a cosplayer in 2007, and has since branched out into various forms of entertainment and modeling. She has made over 30 costumes, but gained extreme recognition for her portrayal of Ryūko Matoi Senketsu from the anime Kill La Kill. When not playing dress up at conventions, she can be seen performing nerdy-inspired burlesque and sideshow acts all over the United States.
